The CK Herald application provides comprehensive scheduling facilities for Opera 3 to allow you to automate various tasks. Below are some of the tasks that can be run automatically using CK Herald:

• User Messages using Desktop Alerts or Emails

• System Shutdown including user logout

• Backup (Data and System files)

• SOP Order Import

Tasks can be chained to run sequentially, with support for both pre and post operation chaining and automatically emailing in the event of a task failing.

In addition to the tasks built into CK Herald, CK Systems can also tailor CK Herald to add an end user’s custom tasks to perform bespoke operations ( eg. Automatically archiving data or importing data ) .

CK Herald does not require a SQL Server installation as CK Herald runs as a service on the fileserver with “CKSWatcher” running on the client workstations to allow end users to receive messages created in Opera even when they are not logged into Opera.

Key Functionality:

• Flexible scheduling which can be run once, on login, every ‘x’ minutes or days, certain days of the week/month etc

• No need to install SQL – runs as a service on the server

• Tasks can be temporarily disabled

• Up to 3 pre/post tasks can be defined for each task (i.e. Opera Shutdown, Backup etc.)

• User/Department and company selection for certain tasks

• Log file updated and/or emails can be sent on success and failure of tasks

• Emailing can be sent via any SMTP server (Exchange, Gmail etc.) or any MAPI compliant client (Outlook, Windows Mail)

• Can be customised to include bespoke tasks
