After entering text into the Stock Ref field on the SOP Details form, the advanced search will be invoked as follows:

All - If ‘All’ is selected the user may enter text to search on in the search box. Entry will be optional and if populated, the search will be restricted to all stock items that contain the entered search text. This applies to both RHS & LHS criteria. If either of the search boxes is empty, all stock items will be assumed for the appropriate side.

Stock Reference - The search will return any stock item where the wording in the text entry field is found anywhere in the Opera stock code.

Description - The search will return any stock item where the wording in the text entry field is found anywhere in either the stock description or the stock extended description. The default search option will be the description for LHS and RHS search criteria. Focus will be set to the search text box on the LHS. If the user presses tab focus will be set to the RHS search text box and if tab again pressed focus will be set to the Search button.

Supplier - The search will return stock items where the wording in the text entry field is found anywhere in suppliers codes allocated to that item. If “Supplier” is used as criteria, the search box allows the user to select the account number from; supplier’s names will also be accepted. (Supplier Products)

Supplier Stock Reference - The search will return any stock item where the wording in the text entry field is found anywhere in a suppliers stock reference attached to that item. (Supplier Products)

Stock Category - The search will contain any stock item within the chosen category. If “Stock category” is used as criteria, the entry will be a search box to select the stock category from.

Below each criteria list there are text boxes to allow entry of a search string. Between the criteria lists there are three additional options:

•And - The search will return any stock item where the criteria in both columns are fulfilled.

•Or - The search will return any stock item where the criteria in either column are fulfilled.

•Not - The search will return any stock item where the criteria in the left column are fulfilled and the criteria in the right column are not fulfilled. (In this case the “All” option in column two will be ignored).

The user can also enter a price from & to criteria to search on.

When the user selects “Search” button the following information is displayed in the search results grid:

Description

In Stock/Free

Sell Price/P/O

Supplier

If the user selects ‘Clear’, the search criteria is reset to default & the search results are cleared.

Toggle Filter - this option allows the filter to display all stock items or just stock items which match the filter criteria.

If the user selects ‘Accept’, the SOP Details form will be updated with the selected stock item.
