Professor Puzzle find the perfect fit with Opera 3

Professor Puzzle is a specialist manufacturer of wooden and metal puzzles. Having started out selling Calcutta-inspired puzzles on a market stall in Covent Garden, Professor Puzzle experienced rapid business growth which saw the company double in size over the span of a year. In the wake of this expansion, the company’s original accounts package could no longer keep pace and the management team decided to invest in a software platform which could consolidate all business processes to boost visibility and underpin future growth.

Working with IT consultancy and Pegasus Partner Diskel, Professor Puzzle chose Opera 3 based on its depth of functionality, its superior, intuitive reporting and its ability to integrate all key processes across Finance and Credit Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, CRM, Payroll and HR. The opportunity to work with Diskel and add modules where required was also key to the decision.

Supporting the manufacture of over a million units each year, spanning 1000 product lines across three production facilities in the UK and China, Opera 3 boosts visibility for Professor Puzzle through presenting key business information clearly from one location, saving time and resources. Crucially, this insight enables the finance team to break down profitability for each product line and market in order to ascertain where to channel future investment.

“As a business, we have quickly grown from a market stall in Covent Garden to become a global brand, manufacturing millions of products annually,” comments Andrew Robinson, Financial Controller, Professor Puzzle. “In order to harness this growth and ensure we are in the best position to take advantage of new opportunities, we needed a solution which would provide us with detailed insight on every aspect of our business to forecast and drive profitability. Opera 3 gives us the scale to grow, and working with Diskel we are able to add niche functionality where we need it. We look forward to our next chapter with Opera 3 at the helm.”
