What is Pegasus Business Cloud?

Pegasus Business Cloud is a used by many of our customers to host their Pegasus products in a Cloud based environment. The market is gradually moving from “on-premise” installations of ERP systems to those that are “Hosted” in the cloud. This is because customers can save on the expense involved in buying a server/network and running their ERP systems on such an infrastructure. This is actively explored when existing infrastructure comes to the end of its natural life cycle and decisions need to be made about its replacement. Pegasus Business Cloud has been addressing this opportunity since 2015 by hosting both Opera Pegasus CIS 5 in the cloud where Pegasus can offer a cloud option to our customers.

Introducing Snapshot

One of the advantages of using Pegasus Business Cloud is that you can take advantage of a premium back-up service called Snapshot. This is an add-on service that customers can purchase to complement our standard back-up hosted services. Snapshots are taken of your data on an hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly basis then retained to provide rolling recovery points from which we can restore your data. These ‘point-in-time’ copies of your data are stored on our SAN (Storage Area Network) giving the ability to provide multiple recovery / restore points to complement the standard daily back-up routines and those via the Scheduler Opera 3 back-up utility. The standard snapshot frequency and retention periods are:

A back-up is essentially a point in time ‘Snapshot’ copy of your hosted virtual server, including all applications and data, taken at defined intervals and kept separately from your live system. These back-ups provide restore points in the event of loss or corruption to all or part of your working copy. We can restore individual files or folders as well as a complete server restore.

Rolling restore points means most recent snapshot back-up replaces the oldest in each sequence.

There are 80 active rolling back-ups made up of hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly snapshots, there are no storage limits attached to this service.
