Pegasus Online Filing Manager

Online filing is more efficient and convenient than paper filing, and submitting your Annual Returns and PAYE in-year returns using Pegasus Online Filing Manager makes it even easier.

Pegasus Online Filing Manager comes as standard with Opera 3 Payroll & HR. It's intuitive, accurate and uses the information already generated via normal payroll processing, removing the need to re-key data. It was the first professional application to gain HMRC approval for verifying and electronically submitting P14 and P35 information.

The Pegasus Online Filing Manager caters for the submission of the VAT 100 Return to HMRC. It is now a requirement for most companies to submit their annual P14 and P35 online.

What is online filing?

Online filing was introduced by the Government in 2002, as a means of sending Employers' Annual Returns (P14s and P35) electronically, eliminating the need for paper returns.

All employers, must send a number of your in-year PAYE forms online to HMRC; P45 (Part1), P45 (Part3), P46, P46 (Pen), P46 (Expat).

What are the benefits of online filing?

How do I file online?

You can choose how to do your online filing. The options are:

Use payroll software capable of filing your return electronically via the secure HMRC PAYE Online for Employers' Internet Service
Use an intermediary, for example, a payroll bureau, who can file online on your behalf

If you want to use your payroll software to fulfil your online filing commitments, you must ensure that it is capable of sending your data electronically and that your data meets HMRC Quality Standard: Pegasus Online Filing Manager meets the Quality Standard expected from employers when filing their Annual Return (P35) and End of Year Summary (P14) over the Internet for the relevant tax year.

If you use an intermediary, they may be able to fulfil your online filing requirements. However, you will still be responsible for ensuring that your return is filed on time and meets HMRC Quality Standard. If it is rejected, any amendments must be made before attempting to file online again. A successful live submission must be received by the deadline or you will face possible HMRC penalties.

Can I file online with Opera 3 Payroll?

Yes, Opera 3 Payroll is fully tested and meets HMRC Payroll Standard and Pensioner Payroll Standard, generating and submitting Annual Returns electronically via the Pegasus Online Filing Manager, which meets the Quality Standard.
