Caley Fisheries

Caley Fisheries , a provider of services to the fishing industry including administration, accounting, management, sales, net making, rigging and chandlery, has deployed Opera 3 . The solution will be installed at the company’s North Shields and Oban operations, and will help to capitalise on expansion, streamline processes and boost its proposition to overseas customers.

As part of its growth strategy, Caley Fisheries decided to upgrade to Opera 3 based on a requirement for specific capabilities around its export sales processes. The company needed to streamline all processes and enhance visibility of information pertaining to its European customer base.

Pegasus Software Partner A P Systems, installed Opera 3, combined with a number of bespoke applications specific to the nuances of the fishing industry, in order to enable electronic records of transactions to be sent directly to customers, suppliers and regulatory authorities with virtually no manual intervention, saving substantial amounts of time in manual re-keying of data. Crucially, through this new capability Caley Fisheries has been able to expand its business, increasing its headcount by a third, and adding an additional £1 million to its turnover.
