The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA), the international qualifying and membership body for the Chartered Secretary profession, has upgraded to Opera 3.
The upgrade has streamlined activity for ICSA’s six-strong finance team, through improved reporting, faster navigation and flexible data entry, while supporting wider business decision making.
Founded in 1891 ICSA has over 36,000 members worldwide and is represented in over 70 countries. As well as being a leading authority on corporate governance, ICSA publishes guidance notes and best practice guides. Through its subsidiaries, the organisation also provides events, information and training, boardroom performance evaluation and dedicated software.
ICSA had been using Opera II for many years and when the opportunity arose to upgrade to the latest version, Opera 3, ICSA was keen to benefit from the new features on offer.
“Opera 3’s enhanced reporting capabilities make it easier to produce the complex reports needed by the ICSA”, says Gary Savage, assistant chief accountant, ICSA. “Any changes to the data are automatically reflected in the reports without having to start again from scratch, making the whole process more efficient. Future and retrospective journal postings are an additional bonus as is the ability to have more than one screen open at any one time.
“Additionally, Opera 3 is so intuitive that we are able to give other users in ICSA, such as budget managers, controlled access to information. This enables them to see the latest figures as required so that they can make more informed business decisions.”
